UPDF 0-1 Vipers SC

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions, Vipers SC, are back in second place after gritting out a narrow 1-0 victory at 10-man UPDF in Bombo on Sunday.

The match was a stop-start thanks to heavy rain, but it eventually continued after the situation stabilised.

Livingstone Mulondo scored the game’s only goal in the 11th minute to see the Venoms leapfrog Kitara a day after the Masindi side had dislodged Vipers.

Bright Anukani set up the eventual Pilsner Man of the Match, Mulondo, for the visitors to claim their sixth win in nine matches.

At 20 points, Vipers are now four behind leaders BUL, while UPDF – who were losing their fifth in nine – remain 13th on eight points.

It was actually double pain for UPDF, who played the last 23 minutes with 10 men after Aggrey Kirya was sent off following a second yellow card.
