Vipers beat Busoga in an 8-goal thriller

Busoga United 3-5 Vipers SC

Vipers SC triumphed in an eight-goal thriller, beating Busoga United 5-3 in Jinja on Sunday to claim their second win in three games.

Goals from Geoffrey Wasswa, Milton Karisa, Karim Watambala and a Paul Mucureezi ensured of coach Fred Kajoba men’s victory.

George Kasonko, Isma Mugulusi and Paul Ssekulima netted for Busoga.

Wasswa opened the floodgates with a well taken freekick that took a deflection in for Vipers 1-0 lead.

Kasonko then pulled Busoga level with a powerful finish off a Mugulusi effort, which goalkeeper Fabian Mutombora had blocked in vain.

But the Venoms went ahead again with Karisa calmly controlling a long pass before firing past goalkeeper Ali Kimera for a 2-1 halftime lead.

Watambala, who was named man of the match, stunning Kimera with a powerful long range shot for 3-1.

Mugulusi pulled one back for the hosts in the 53rd minute, forcing Kajoba to ring changes.

On came Mucureezi and Ibrahim, the former adding a fourth from a freekick.

Mucureezi then completed his double with Vipers fifth, calming beating Kimera.

Elsewhere, Baker Buyala scored the only goal as Kyetume best Bul 1-0 away from home.
