Vipers SC 0-0 Wakiso Giants
UPDF 1-1 BUL
Blacks Power 0-2 Busoga United
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) reigning champions Vipers SC struggles in front of goal continued on Tuesday as they drew goalless at home to Wakiso Giants.
This coming off another barren draw with Guinea’s Horoya FC in the Caf Champions League at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende at the weekend.
Coming into that, they had failed to score in open play in two Stanbic Uganda Cup matches, as well as in the mauling at the hands of Raja Casablanca in Morocco.
With the draw against Wakiso Giants on Tuesday, the Venoms – who were playing their first second round game – have now gone 450 minutes without scoring a goal.
This is definitely not the build up they wanted ahead of their Champions League clash against Simba of Tanzania at the same venue this Saturday.
Vipers fourth draw in 15 matches keeps them third on 28 points, four behind leaders KCCA.
Wakiso Giants move to 26 points in fourth after 16 matches.
At 29 points from 16 games, BUL – who have played a match more then KCCA and Vipers, stay second following their one-all draw away to UPDF.
Coach Alex Isabirye’s BUL went ahead courtesy of Hillary Onek’s 51st minute goal but Frank Yiga rescued UPDF, who are second from bottom on 12 points, 16 minutes from full time.
Busoga United were the only side to pick maximum points on the day, Peter Onzima and Ronald Kasamba’s goals ensuring a 2-0 victory over Blacks Power.
Both Busoga and Blacks Power are level on 12 points after 16 matches.
