Maroons 0-1 Vipers SC
Vipers leapfrogged URA to go second on the log after overcoming Maroons in an Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) match played at Prisons Grounds, Luzira on Tuesday afternoon.
Erisa Ssekisambu scored the only goal of the tie in the 42nd minute to give the reigning champions maximum points.
The forward dummied centre back Maxwell Okello before slotting home after a good pass from Pius Wanji.
The goal came at time the hosts were crying foul after they were denied what appeared as a genuine penalty when defender Halid Lwaliwa felled Peter Otai in the area.
In the second half, no team was dominant but Dan Birikwalira hit the cross bar with a ferocious shot from the edge of the 18-yard box following a poor clearance.
Vipers are now on 34 points; four adrift of KCCA but with a game in hand over the Kasasiro Boys. Maroons stay at the base of the table with 12 points.
