Bul 2-3 Vipers
Vipers SC reopened their five-point lead following a 3-2 away victory over Bul in Jinja on Sunday.
Striker Tito Okello was the starman as his hat-trick ensured the Venoms stayed in charge of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) proceedings.
Vipers move to 49 points, five more than second-placed KCCA – both having played the same number of games, with nine to go.
The three-time league winners, Vipers, first surrended a two-goal lead in quick succession for a 2-2 scoreline.
The visitors started with clear intentions, Tito Okello opening the scores with a 19th minute penalty before the Vipers striker doubled the advantage nine minutes later.
At 2-0, coach Fred Kajoba’s Vipers were threatening to run away with the game.
But Bul pulled one back through Fredson Gwoto on the half hour, Robert Mukongotya sending the game into the break on 2-2.
It was closely contested after the break but still it is Vipers that had their noses top, with Daniel Sserunkuma setting up Okello to complete his hat-trick on 73 minutes.
The result keeps Bul in sixth on 30 points.
