Tuesday’s result

Vipers SC 2-1 Bul

Unbeaten Vipers SC went top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table following their 2-1 win over hitherto leaders Bul at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

Frank Tumwesigye and Allan Kayiwa’s first half goals were enough to send the Venoms top of the standings on 20 points, one ahead of Bul in second place. Deogratious Ojok got Bul’s consolation.

Coach Edward Golola’s Vipers also have a game in hand on Peter Onen’s Bul, who have now played nine matches.

The hosts went ahead on 19 minutes when Aziz Kayondo crossed for Tumwesigye to head in past Abdul Kimera.

Vipers made it 2-0 five minutes later when Kayiwa curled home a free-kick. Vipers looked like they were running away with it, here.

But Bul pulled one back Ojok met James Otim’s pass to the club’s 13th goal of the campaign on 29 minutes.

There was really little to write home about in the second period, as Vipers held on for all three points.
