URA 0-3 Vipers SC
Four-time national champions, Vipers SC, are beginning to scent a possible fifth after a commanding 3-0 away victory over title pretenders URA on Tuesday.
The result at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje moved table leaders, Vipers, to 55 points, a massive nine over second-placed KCCA with seven games to go.
Vipers captain Halid Lwalirwa pounced home the opening goal on 26 minutes after a melee resulting from a corner kick.
Talisman Caesar Manzoki doubled Vipers advantage 10 minutes later from the penalty spot after strike partner Yunus Sentamu was hacked down by URA defender Hood Mulikyi.
The URA defender, Mulikyi, then lost Sentamu for the striker to run onto Milton Karisa’s flicked header for the third goal just after the hour mark.
Third-placed URA, clearly second best for the majority of the game, are now 12 points behind Vipers.
