Vipers SC 1-0 Police
Vipers warmed up for their weekend Caf Champions League clash against CS Constantine with a 1-0 win over Police in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Sunday.
Striker Dan Sserunkuma, snubbed for the annual football awards last Friday, again proved his worth to the champions by coming off the bench to score the winner within two minutes of his 15 minute cameo.
The win, Vipers sixth in nine games, lifted them to second place on tbe log, three points behind leaders KCCA.
KCCA top on 24 points but they have played a game more than Vipers.
Sserunkuma latched onto Geoffrey Wasswa’s lofted pass and held off Dennis Bigala before slotting the ball under Davis Mutebi’s dive for his fifth goal of the season.
Defeat for Police left them eighth with 14 points.
