Vipers, Express win as Wakiso stop Police

Vipers SC responded to URA’s opening of a four-point lead at the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) summit by thumping lowly Myda 4-0 on Wednesday in Tororo.

The Venoms win moved them to 46 points after 21 games and has them within one of the leaders with nine games left.

Following in hot pursuit is Express, who left it late, eventually overpowering visiting Onduparaka 2-0 at the Betway Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles now improve to 43 points and remain strongly in the title race.

In Tororo, Yunus Sentamu put Vipers ahead via a penalty kick on 19 minutes after being fouled in the box.

Karim Watambala added the second for a 2-0 halftime lead before David Bagoole made it three in the second half.

Sentamu then completed his double and Vipers rout of relegation-bound Myda on 65 minutes.

At Wankulukuku, Eric Kambale scored a thunderbolt on 78 minutes before completing his brace with 90th minute header.

In Wakiso, the Giants beat Police 3-1,  Joshua Lubwama scoring twice from the penalty spot.

Ssekajugo then tapped home the third from a Frank Ssebuufu pass after drawing Tom Ikara out of position on 62 minutes.

Herman Wasswa scored Police’s consolation on 72 minutes.
