Kirinya-Jinja 1-1 Vipers

URA 0-0 Masavu

Vipers SC missed an opportunity to stretch their lead at the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) summit as they rallied to salvage a point against Kirinya-Jinja on Tuesday.

It took Moses Waisswa’s 57th minute goal to cancel out Isma Kawawulo’s earlier strike for coach Miguel da Costa’s men to escape defeat.

Vipers, however, stay top on 59 points, five ahead of second placed KCCA, who – together with SC villa – have player a game fewer than the Venoms.

“It was a very tough match with a very tough team,” said Vipers coach Da Costa.

“Concerning the team, the pitch and everything I am satisfied.”

Kirinya coach Charles Ayieko was also happy with his boys perfamance and match officiating.

“Today I got a fair referee compared to what I’ve been getting over the last five games.”

Vipers are looking to winning only their third league title, the first coming in 2010.
