Vipers and Wakiso Giants lock horns in a fiercely anticipated clash at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende in one of the three league fixtures on card.
Vipers missed out on day one of the second round of the league with continental commitments while Wakiso Giants lost 1-0 log leaders KCCA in Wakissha.
Vipers are still searching for their goal of the year 2023 and skipper Milton Karisa knows how important it is to win.
“It is a very important match because we come off two weeks with two very demanding games with no goals scored,” said Karisa an honest assessment with the club media.
“Tomorrow will be no exception. It will be a difficult game, against opponents who always perform at a very high level -and showed it in the first round.”
“It will be very demanding, but we are aware of that but we are aware that tomorrow’s game is very important for us continuing in the upper part of the League table,” noted Karisa.
“We are prepared to face it, knowing that we have to start the game well -because Wakiso Giants distribute the ball well, and we must be very focused before Saturday’s game against Tanzania’s Simba SC (in the Champions League).”
Vipers have Marvin Youngman, Lumala Abdu and Olivier Osomba ruled out through injury.
Wakiso Giants on the other hand will miss several key players including the trio of Ronald Madoi, Titus Ssematimba and Apollo Kagogwe on Afcon U-20 duty with Uganda.
Moses Aliro, Frank Ssebuufu and Shariph Kimbowa are all doubtful but Paul Willa is available to face his former bosses.
