StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions, Vipers SC, squandered a chance to open a two-point lead at the summit after they drew goalless at Onduparaka on Friday.
On the day, all three matches including URA at home to UPDF and Wakiso Giants away to Busoga United failed to produce a winner.
Only URA versus UPDF produced goals in their 1-1 draw, Vianey Sekajugo scoring for the former and Ivan Ahimbisibwe the latter.
Vipers were expected to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Soltilo Bright Stats in their previous game.
But at Green Light Stadium, they failed to break through a resilient but relegation bound Onduparaka.
The Venoms seventh draw in 25 games takes them top level on 46 points with Villa, who have an inferior goal difference.
Onduparaka remain bottom on 16 points. They have to win all their remaining three games and hope everyone above them do not win theira for the Caterpillars to survive.
