Vipers hand KCCA more initiative

Wednesday result

Mbarara City 0-0 Vipers SC

Vipers SC drew goalless at Mbarara City on Wednesday to further strengthen title rivals KCCA’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) resolve.

Holders Vipers would have cut back KCCA’s lead to four points had they won but now trail by six.

KCCA lead on 56 points while Vipers have 50 with four matches to go.

‘’We respected the opponents a lot,” said Vipers coach Michael Nam Ouma.

“They played a hard game, long balls and were too physical but we managed to get a point, which could count at the end.”

Mbarara City assistant coach Baker Kasule praised his players resolve.

“We showed big spirit following our loss to Villa at Namboole.

‘’We shall go with the draw and keep the concentration for next game.”

Mbarara moved to 42 points but the Ankole Lions stayed fourth on the log.
