Friday’s selected result

Mbarara City 1-2 Vipers SC

Vipers SC won their fourth out of five matches on Friday when they beat Mbarara City 2-1 to keep good sight of leaders KCCA.

Ugandan internationals Bobosi Byaruhanga and Ibrahim Orit scored the visitors goals at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

The goals moved the second-placed Venoms to 13 points on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table, three behind KCCA, who have played a game more.

Pistis Barenge scored Mbarara’s consolation in added time.

The Ankole Lions are 10th with just six points from as many games.

Vipers did not waste much time once action started at Kakyeka, Byaruhanga – one of Cranes promising players in the just concluded World Cup qualifiers, giving them a ninth minute lead.

His national teammate Orit doubled the visitors advantage on 74 minutes, seemingly stretching Mbarara out of the game.

The hosts did score in tbe fourth minute of added time but it was a little too late for any desired impact.
