Proline Vs. Soana, Star Times Stadium-Lugogo (4:00 pm) live on Azam TV

Masavu Vs.  Vipers SC, Fisheries Training Institute-Entebbe

Bright Stars Vs. Kirinya Jinja SSS, Champions Stadium- Mwererwe

Vipers will take to the Fisheries Training Institute field in Entebbe on Wednesday looking to stretch the lead at the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) the summit.

The Venons’ tie against hosts Masavu is one of three clashes on the day, with others involving early strugglers Proline at home to Soana, and big hitting Kirinya-Jinja away to Bright Stars.

Coach Miguel da Costa’s Vipers, fresh from a 1-0 victory over title challengers SC Villa at the weekend thanks to Tom Masiko’s lone strike, will go into the international break top of the log should they register their third win in four matches.

Victory over newly-promoted Masavu will push them to 10 points, with Police – who travel to Onduparaka on Wednesday, the only side that can keep up with them after match day four.

“So we are going to stay working hard,” said Da Costa ahead of the Masavu date and the international break, where Uganda will play Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers.

“I wish the best to the national team and hope our boys can come back without injuries.” Masavu are 12th after only one win in three matches.

Kirinya away to Bright Stars are the only other side that stand an outside chance of going into the international break on top, but that will depend on Police and Vipers performances.

At Lugogo, bottom side Proline face Soana desperate to register their first win after two defeats and a draw.

“We always start slow because there are so many things we try to do,” said Proline coach Mujib Kasule.

“We shall continue to train and work on things that make us strong and we are sure it will come good.”

The league continues on Wednesday with champions KCCA – third and two points behind Vipers and Police’s seven – away to URA among the five games on the day.
