Vipers SC went four points clear at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) following a commanding 3-1 victory over Arua Hill on Saturday.
This on a day 13 goals were scored in four matches.
The Venoms now have 39 points after 17 games, with closest challengers, KCCA – who have played a match fewer, at 35. Arua Hill are sixth on 28 points.
Caesar Manzoki, Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu scored for Vipers while Gaddafi Wahabu got Arua Hill’s consolation.
All goals came in the second half in a match Vipers star Siraje Sentamu was named Pilsner Man of the Match.
At the Arena of Visions, URA returned to third on the table on 31 points, eight behind leaders Vipers.
Ibrahim Dada and a late one from Brian Nkuubi relegated a beautiful volley from Batte Saifi to only a consolation.
In the East, BUL were 2-0 winners Wakiso Giants, with Richard Wandyaka and Simon Peter Oketch scoring the goals.
Onduparaka were big time winners in West Nile, thrashing Busoga United 3-1.
Shaban Muhammad scored twice and assisted another for Matata Gabriel for Onduparaka to move to 11th on 17 points. Ssozi Shaka got Busoga’s consolation.
