KCCA 1-2 Vipers
Vipers triumphed over KCCA 2-1 to close the gap on StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) leaders URA at the MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday.
The defending champions now have 49 points, one fewer than URA, both teams having played 22 matches.
Yunus Sentamu and Milton Karisa scored the goals for coach Fred Kajoba’s side while Denis Iguma got the hosts consolation.
It was a cagey first half but it is Vipers who navigated the conditions better, scoring two quick goals at the start of the second.
Vipers first goal was created by left back Aziz Kayondo, whose ball was powered in by Sentamu on 51 minutes, leaving KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago helpless.
The second arrived immediately after restart of play, with Kayondo crossing for Karisa, whose volley found a way home.
Iguma pulled one back for KCCA in the final 20 minutes but Vipers held on for all three points.
