Bright Stars 0-1 Vipers

Deus Bukenya scored an 84th winner in Matugga on Tuesday as Vipers edged Bright Stars 1-0 to close the gap on leaders KCCA to just six points.

KCCA now have 48 points with seven Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) matches remaining.

And KCCA manager Mike Mutebi will be concerned by the fact that Vipers are closing in at a time they have a game in hand.

The 10-time league winners ceded ground in the title chase when they were held 1-1 by Lweza at Wankulukuku, with Derrick Nsibambi putting the visitors ahead on 62 minutes and Geoffrey Sserunkuma rescuing a point for the hosts 10 minutes from time.

But with Vipers boasting a game in hand of the table leaders, the reigning champions will relish the prospect of facing off with KCCA with just three points behind them. KCCA and Vipers face off at Nakivubo on April 29.
