- Vipers Vs Kirinya Jinja SS – Kitende 4.30pm
Vipers will be out to end their indecent run of results when they host Kirinya Jinja SS at St. Mary’s Kitende.
Miguel Da Costa’s men are currently enjoying a tough spell where they are winless in the last three games and have only picked maximum points once in seven league outings.
They come into the game on the back of a hard to take 3-1 defeat at the hands of fellow contenders KCCA and a reaction by winning against Charles Ayiekoh’s side is all the Venoms need.
Da Costa, who admitted his side were not enjoying good form after loss to KCCA knows that nothing short of victory may leave him jobless less than a year after replacing Abdallah Mubiru.
Sixth on the log with 17 points from 11 games, same as seventh placed Kirinya Jinja SS, the two-time champions are six points below log leaders Police.
Kirinya who are without the suspended Joel Madondo and on loan Musa Esenu plus Ibrahim Kayiwa will fancy their chances against a side lacking in confidence.
Last season, Vipers won the home tie 1-0 and lost the reverse as the Jinja based side fought for survival.
Already, the Venoms have dropped four points at home against lowly Maroons and Soana which gives hope to Kirinya, a team that has picked wins at Masavu and UPDF and a point at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku against Express.
