Vipers sit fourth on the table six points adrift of leaders KCCA but with two games in hand.

In normal life, that translates into six points but that shouldn’t sink into the boys’ minds according to Coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe whose side takes on Maroons in one of the two league fixtures on Tuesday.

“A game in hand is never points won,” Nsimbe told www.upl.ug. “We have to be at our mercurial best against Maroons to take advantage of games in hand,” he added.

The reigning champions head into the game on the back of a 2-1 shock away loss to Lweza but are buoyant after reaching the last 16 of the Uganda Cup; beating Kasese New Villa 2-0 away from home.

Ugandan internationals Ismail Watenga, Erisa Ssekisambu and Keziron Kizito will be vital for the visitors who will jump to second with maximum points.

For the hosts who are at the log’s base, they will be seeking to build on the 1-0 win over Simba last week as their fight for relegation still takes centre stage.

Elsewhere, 2005 champions Police FC turn focus to Bul. FC in the aftermath of a shock 3-2 defeat to another Jinja side JMC Hippos.

The fixture at Kakindu will be broadcast live on Azam TV.
