Vipers set eyes on top, Villa seek redemption

Sunday Fixtures

  • SC Villa vs Maroons –Akii Bua stadium, Lira 2pm (FUFA TV)
  • Gaddafi vs Vipers – Kakindu stadium, Jinja 4pm (Sanyuka Prime)

Reigning champions Vipers will move top of the table for the first time this season if they beat hosts Gaddafi at Kakindu.

Roberto Oliviera’s men are third on the table with 20 points and victory will put them on 23 points, one better than KCCA who assumed leadership on Friday.

They must however do so minus striker Yunus Sentamu who sustained a groin injury against Villa in their last outing.

The hosts will also be eager to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at KCCA last week but will still miss Godfrey Lwesibawa and Coach Wasswa Bbosa who are sanctioned by the FA for indiscipline.

In the early kick off of the day, sixteen time champions SC Villa host Maroons behind closed doors in Lira.

Nelly Magera’s men have now lost two successive games after defeats against KCCA and Vipers and will need to return to winning ways by all means.

Maroons are also winless in four successive games since beating KCCA 1-0 in October.
