Express 1-1 Vipers SC

Tito Okello scored a controversial equaliser in the 1-1 draw with hosts Express at Wankulukuku to go joint top on the league table on Wednesday.

Tito Okello’s strike late on came after Tony Odur had given the Red Eagles the lead from a spot kick and Daniel Sserunkuma missed a penalty for Vipers.

It was a game that brought into sharp focus officiating, with referee Ronald Kirangwa’s performance the biggest talking point.

With seven minutes from full time, Okello received a pass from Vipers skipper Taddeo Lwanga when the striker was yards offside.

Okello went ahead to score anyway, with Kirangwa and his assistant Sam Kakembo allowing the effort to stand.

It needed police intervention to shield Kirangwa and his assistants from angry home fans at full time.

The result helped Vipers stretch their unbeaten run to 24 league games and moved to 15 points, same as KCCA’s.

Express, now unbeaten in five games, are sixth on the log with 12 points after seven games.
