Vipers on Tuesday unveiled Hima Cement as their shirt sponsor in a deal they say is “the most lucrative in the club’s history.”The Ugx. 632 million partnership will see Hima Cement adorn Venom’s home and away kits for two seasons.
“I am sure everyone at Vipers has been waiting for this moment,” stated marketing and Sponsorship Manager, Simon Ssekankya at Golf Course Hotel, Kampala where the deal was made official. “This partnership is robust cemented between the two big brands – Hima is the biggest Cement brand Worldwide while Vipers are a big one footballing wise in the country,” he added.
Lawrence Mulindwa, the club’s president and chief financier was equally delighted with the deal which he described as a purposeful marriage that will bear fruits.
“We are delighted to partners with one of the most trusted brands in the country and the globe,” he said. “This marriage we are starting today is a very purposeful marriage. It’s not just a marriage of convenience but one that we want to last and bear fruits. As Vipers, we need to protect this marriage by protecting interests of our partners.”
Patrick Mugenyi, Hima Cement’s sales director said their commitment to sign with Vipers is derived from the good leadership at the club and affirmed they will be supportive of the two-time champions.
“It’s a long term commitment thanks to the leadership of Vipers. We are committed – we are going to be with you, we are going to be fully supportive in helping the building of the stadium. We have heard that the fan base is growing every day, With Hima coming; it will be a different story.”
Vipers become the seventh league side in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) with a shirt sponsorship deal after KCCA (StarTimes, Britam and Prime Media), SC Villa (StarTimes), Onduparaka (Betway), Bul (Fortune Butto) and Bright Stars (Lato Milk).
