SC Villa 0-1 Arua Hill

UPDF 0-1 Vipers

URA 2-0 KCCA

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions, Vipers SC, won on the day pace setters SC Villa and KCCA both lost their games on Wednesday.

Vipers edged UPDF 1-0 away in Bombo thanks to an own goal from goalkeeper Derrick Were, while Innocent Media’s strike for Arua Hill was enough to end Villa’s 11-match unbeaten run.

In Lugazi, Erick Ssenjobe and Alfred Leku scored for URA as they beat KCCA, who had Badru Kaddu Mukasa in charge after Morley Byekwaso’s resignation on Sunday as manager, 2-0.

Defeat for both Villa and KCCA keeps them in first and second position on 43 and 38 points respectively, with the former having played two games more than the latter.

But in losing, the duo allowed Vipers to claw down the points.

The Venoms, who have played four matches fewer than Villa and two than KCCA, now have 35 points.

On their part, URA were returning to winning ways, and their victory over KCCA sees them move into fourth position on 33 points from 18 games.

Arua Hill’s win over Villa has the Kongolo on 30 points from 20 matches. Each team will play 28 games this season.
