Wadada strike not enough as Cranes fall to Niger

  • Niger 2-1 Uganda

Nicholas Wadada scored Uganda Cranes consolation as they lost to Niger in the last of the three team mini-tournament.

Zakari Victorien Adje Adebayor scored twice past Denis Onyango in either half before the Vipers Captain netted late for the visitors.

Coach Sebastien Desabre made a couple of changes from the side that drew 0-1 to Central African Republic with Wadada, debutant Moses Opondo, Denis Onyango and Edrisa Lubega all starting.

The loss means that Uganda Cranes under Desabre have won once, lost five and drawn four games.

Next on menu will be the 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Lesotho in September.
