Nyamityobora 0-1 Vipers

Innocent Wafula scored his first league goal for Vipers as the Uganda Premier League (UPL) reigning champions edged Nyamityobora 1-0 in Mbarara on Tuesday.

The goal ensured Kenyan coach Michael Ouma and his Ugandan colleague Edward Golola continued their steady revival at the Kitende club.

And it took yet another Kenyan import in Wafula to settle the contest on 14 minutes and ensure the Venoms stayed within three points of KCCA.

On their part, KCCA hit the 40-point mark after 17 matches following another 1-0 scoreline over Onduparaka at Lugogo, Patrick Kaddu scoring that one.

Vipers have now won their last two matches by a goal, making it three league wins in five matches since Ouma took over from the sacked Mexican Javier Martinez.

Defeat for Nyamityobora, their 11th in 17 matches, keeps them in relegation zone.
