Wakiso Giants 5-1 UPDF

Wakiso Giants were in unforgiving mood as they dispatched UPDF 5-1 at Wakissha Stadium on Friday.

The resounding victory saw the Purple Sharks climb up to ninth position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table.

Ivan Bogere grabbed a brace with Joshua Lubwama, Frank Ssebuufu and Viane Ssekajugo adding the other goals.

UPDF’s consolation was scored by second half substitute Hussein Zzinda.

Lubwama put the hosts ahead inside five minutes from a penalty spot after Brian Kayanja fouled Ssekajugo in the area.

Wakiso got the second through in-form Bogere on 18 minutes.

The striker completed his double in the 41st minutes before Ssebuufu extended lead with a header two minutes later.

Ssekajugo sealed the hosts’ rout of the army men with a fifth in the 69th minute before Zzinda got the soldiers late consolation.
