Wakiso win as big guns falter

Tuesday results

BUL 1-1 KCCA
Express 0-0 Vipers
Bright Stars 0-2 Wakiso Giants

It is getting more congested at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as no team seems ready to peel away.

Leaders KCCA retained their place at the summit on Tuesday despite being held at BUL, while defending champions Vipers could only draw goalless at Express.

Actually, only Wakiso Giants won on the day, the Purple Sharks beating Soltilo Bright Stars 2-0 at Kavumba to force themselves back into the top four.

Frank Ssebuufu and Shariph Kimbowa scored Wakiso’s goals to move them level on 24 points with Vipers and BUL.

The Purple Sharks are two points behind KCCA and one ahead of Villa.

Talking KCCA, the 13-time champions had to come from behind to rescue a point against BUL at the Fufa Technical Center, Njeru.

Julius Poloto’s second half strike cancelled out BUL midfielder Vincent Zziwa’s 11th minute lead for a 1-1 draw.
