New Express captain Enock Walusimbi says he is privileged to lead one of the traditional StatTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) clubs.

The 22-year-old was this week handed the armband by his coach Waswa Bbosa to his pleasant surprise.

He replaces Disan Galiwango, who moved to Vipers during the off-season.

“I got to know (about being named captain) just before my afternoon training session on Tuesday,” Walusimbi told the club website.

“It’s an honour and privilege to lead this historic club and I’ll repay the faith entrusted in me.”

He added: “I know the armband and badge come with a lot of expectations especially from the fans.”

“But I’d like to confirm that together with my teammates we are ready for the challenge and we’re positive we shall bring back the club’s past glory.

The young defender will be deputized by goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and youngster Desmond Kaneene.

Express go into the 2020/21 season looking for their first league title since 2012.
