Before the start of the season, Express’ Coach Wasswa Bbosa revealed that top four was the ultimate target for his side.
The club went into finish third, on 53 points, just four adrift of champions KCCA. It was an improvement from the season before where the Red Eagles managed just 38 points and finished the season 8th on the log.
“First, I congratulate my players for the good season,” Bbosa told upl.co.ug. “To achieve a target is one thing but there was massive improvement as compared to the season before,” he added.
Bbosa however thinks the league was there for the taking if it wasn’t for an up and down season.
“We had blips like every other team and I believe we could have done better. But if you asked me at the start of the season if 3rd was fine, I would welcome it.”
The team is already planning ahead and will play a friendly on Monday June 6 against Soana.
The two sides drew 1-1 in both league fixtures.
