KCCA 6-0 Masavu
Bottom side Masavu are still reeling from a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of KCCA.
Derrick Nsibambi, Samuel Ssekamatte, Allan Kateregga, Tito Okello (brace) and Patrick Kaddu all scored as the defending champions brutally turned on the switch on Saturday.
Defeat for Masavu left coach Alex Gitta’s men rooted at the basement of the 16-team league table with just four points from eight matches.
This is hardly an encouraging sign for a side whose primary goal is to survive relegation in their first top flight season.
But Gitta is not worried, or suggests so. “When you look at the points difference with the rest of us on the table,” he told upl.co.ug, “I’m not worried.
“So it’s not all about today’s (Saturday) heavy defeat against KCCA or the points that we have.
“For me a look at what differentiates us from the rest encourages me.”
Five points separate Masavu from Bul, who are just a place above relegation eight matches into the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) season.
“We shall get ourselves from this. The league is a marathon.”
Masavu, who have won just once, drawn as many and lost six times, next face URA on Tuesday.
