Onduparaka 2-0 Nyamityobora
A goal in each half from Viane Ssekajugo and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato ensured a winning start for Onduparaka new coach Asaph Mwebaze on Friday.
The West Nile side saw off StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) debutants Nyamityobora 2-0 at Green Light Stadium to get their season underway with a bang.
Ssekajugo struck the opener after 27 minutes before Ssebwato’s penalty, 13 minutes from time, ensured of maximum points.
There were bookings by referee Ronald Kirangwa to two Nyamityobora players Lamech Ebong and John Paul Achile as the visitors tried to mitigate damage.
Sekajugo said they want to seriously have a go at the title in their third season since promotion.
Not a bad start to the challenge at all in that regard. They next face SC Villa at Namboole next week.
