Soltilo Bright Stars 3-1 Blacks Power

Busoga United 1-0 UPDF

It was a perfect outing for three StarTimes Uganda Premier League sides as Maroons, Soltilo Bright Stars and Busoga United all won their games on Friday.

Maroons travelled to Wakiso Giants and beat the hosts 2-1, while Bright Stars were outright 3-1 winners at home to Blacks Power and Busoga edged UPDF 1-0.

Ambrose Arinda’s own goal gave visitors Maroons the lead four minutes after half time before Fredrick Nicholas Kigozi doubled the advantage on 69 minutes.

Arinda did atone by pulling one back for the hosts, Wakiso, four minutes later but Maroons held on for all three points.

Maroons moved up one place to ninth on 22 points while Wakiso stayed fifth on 26.

In Kavumba, Denis Omony Kaka grabbed a brace and Sam Ssenyonjo added a late goal as Bright stars saw off Blacks Power. Robert Eseru scored Blacks Power consolation.

Sixth-placed Bright Stars moved to 24 points while Blacks Power stayed second from bottom on 12.

In the east, Thomas Ochungo scored the only goal of the match two minutes from full time as Busoga beat UPDF 1-0.

Busoga moved to 15 points but stayed just two places above relegation while UPDF are a place and three points below them.
