URA 3-1 Onduparaka

JMC Hippos 0-1 Soana

Proline 2-2 Vipers

Vipers missed a chance to go within a point of champions KCCA after they did settle for a 2-all draw with Proline at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The 2-time champions started on a back foot and were punished in the 17th minute when Fahad Bayo put Proline in the lead with a header off Simon Namwanja’s cross.

The ball hit the base of the post before settling in the net but the hosts’ joy was short lived as Keziron Kizito equalised seven minutes later.

It took Erisa Ssekisambu six minutes to give Abdallah Mubiru’s side the lead for the first time in the game with an exquisite goal.

The forward received a good pass from Halid Lwaliwa, had a good a first touch before dummying the onrushing Said Keni in Proline goal to slot into the empty net.

But with just eight minutes to time, Sam Kintu ensured the spoils were shared with an easy goal after poor defending from the Vipers backline.

Despite the draw, Vipers move to second with 16 points, three behind KCCA with both teams on 9 points while Proline are 11th with 10 points.

At Lugazi, URA ended their four-match winless streak with a sounding 3-1 win over fans’ favourites, Onduparaka.

Muhammad Shaban put the Caterpillars in the lead after just a quarter of the game but a goal from Peter Lwasa six minutes to the break and one a piece from Shafik Kagimu and Ronald Kigongo gave Kefa Kisala’s men maximum points.

The four-time league winners jump to 7th on the table with 12 points while Onduparaka drop to 8th thanks to an inferior goal difference despite having same number of points.

Elsewhere, Soana moved to 3rd on the log with a vital but slim 1-0 away victory to JMC Hippos.

David Ssali scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute to give Sam Ssimbwa maximum points.
