Fufa releases Covid prevention guidelines

Local soccer body, Fufa, has released guidelines to help in observing of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against the Coronavirus spread.

Strict restrictions have been issued across the world of sport after the 2019 pandemic ravaged the global economy and livelihoods.

Ugandan sport, including football, was not spared either.

But the government of Uganda has since allowed sport to resume, which has allowed the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, among others, to return.

“Football is not feasible under the most severe restrictions during a pandemic,” reads in part a circular released by Fufa.

“Fufa has a responsibility and mandate to provide appropriate guidance and recommendations to its members and their stakeholders to both mitigate the consequences of disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that any response is harmonized in the common interest.”
