Express coach George Ssimwogerere expects to be in charge of the Red Eagles next season. Ssimwogerere took charge of the club in February.

The former Cranes captain and Express defender penned a short-term contract with the Wankulukuku side which expires at the end of the current season.

Ssimwogerere responded with a “why not” when asked in an interview on the club website whether he thought he would still be in charge next season.

His record in the league reads two wins, the same number of draws and losses in six games.

The coach has also received a boost with a near-full squad now after star Eric Kambale returned from injury ahead of the side’s Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal clash against Bul on Monday.

“It’s good though Kambale is not yet on the level he is supposed to be playing at but he is doing well.

“Isaac Mutanga (who is also now available) adds leadership to us and he is welcome. Umony (Brian) also improving fitness wise as well as Tony Odur. They are experienced players and make us stronger.”
